The short version
HealthWiky is an information website. You can read every page without giving us any personal information, and we do not ask you to create an account.
What we do not collect
- We do not ask for your name, age, medical history or symptoms
- We do not store any health information about you
- What you type into the search box is matched against pages inside your own browser — it is never sent to a server of ours
- We do not sell or rent data to anyone
What is collected automatically
Like any website, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is served — such as the IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used for security and to keep the site working. It is not used to build a profile of you.
Visitor statistics
We count how many people visit and which pages they read. It tells us things like “180 people read the paracetamol page this week, most of them on a phone, most from Tamil Nadu”. We use it to decide what to write next.
Two tools do this counting:
- Google Analytics, added on 4 September 2026. Google receives this information too, and their own privacy policy applies to it.
- Pulse, added on 17 October 2026. This one is ours — we built it and it runs on our own server, so the information goes to us and to nobody else. It sets no cookies, it does not track you across other websites, and it obeys the “Do Not Track” setting if your browser sends one.
What it records:
- Which pages you opened, and how long you stayed
- Roughly where you are — city or state level, not your street
- Your device, browser and screen size
- Which website or search sent you here
What they do not record:
- Your name, email or phone number — we never send these anywhere, and we do not ask for them
- Your full IP address
One thing we take particular care over: your search term can appear in the web address of the results page, and we strip it out before it is reported. A health search is nobody else's business.
If you would rather not be counted at all, most browsers can block both tools, turning on “Do Not Track” stops Pulse counting you, and Google offers an opt-out add-on that works on every site.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets a cookie to tell a returning reader from a new one. That is the only cookie the main HealthWiky site sets. We do not set advertising cookies, we do not run ads, and we do not share anything with advertisers.
Our own Pulse counter sets no cookie at all. It keeps a random number in your browser's own storage so that two visits from you are not counted as two different people. That number is not linked to your name or to anything you do on other websites, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Our articles section
The articles section at /blog/ runs on separate software (WordPress) and may set its own cookies — for example if you leave a comment. It carries both of the counters described above, so that a visit to an article and a visit to a medicine page are not counted as two different people.
Links to other websites
We link to external sources such as the World Health Organization and government health programmes, and to Aswini Medicals where it is genuinely useful. Once you follow a link, that website's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for how other sites handle your data.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have rights over personal data held about you, including the right to ask what is held and to have it corrected or erased. We do not ask you for personal information anywhere on this site, so in most cases there is nothing for us to hand over or delete. The visitor statistics described above are counts, not records of named people. If you believe we hold data about you, write to us and we will respond.
Contact
For any privacy question, email help@healthwiky.com or use our contact page.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the way the site works changes, and the date at the top will reflect that.
